We humans always attract to external things. There is a saying that God is sitting inside of us and we are looking outside. One of the main benefits of meditation is self-awareness. We are more powerful and we have to find out our inner strength through meditation.
Lengthen the attention span is another main benefit of meditation. We are always distracted by external things and the Mobile phone is the addictive one. I am so shocked to read that some Monks meditate for 4-8 hours without water and food.
There are several benefits of meditation. Start small and experience it.
