Blogger Interview # 69: Jyothi Juxta

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
------------------------------
---------------

I am a self proclaimed Poet, Writer and Photographer. I love to display my so-called talents on my blogs and receive comments and appreciation for the same.

Although cooking is not a passion for me, I have a recipe blog, which I primarily compiled for my kids and myself as an online recipe book of the things that I generally create to torture my family at meal times.

Like all bloggers, I am highly opinionated. I work from home now, so I do get more free time to blog and visit bloggers more often than before.  I am a part time Engineer, a full time mom to my two teenagers and an all time irritant to my husband.

Well, I have had quite a few blogs under my name. The ones that I post on these days are:

Simple Yet Tasty (http://zimplyummy.blogspot.com/ )
Prose, Poetry and Photography (http://www.ichoosetowrite.com/ )

Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?
------------------------------

I am not a full time blogger, but since I work online these days, I do end up blogging and blog hopping more.

I got into blogging after reading a blog of a friend from college. I thought, if he can do it, why can’t I? It is not rocket science, right? J

I needed a way to express myself. My personal blog (Jyothi’sMusings ) is actually my online diary.  You won’t find juicy details of my life there though, because I do consider that although we are entitled to free speech and expressions, we should know where to draw the line. J

If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
------------------------------
------------------------------
--------------------------------------

Go create a blog, start writing responsibly, and make sure to make more friends with each passing day. Blogging is all about friendships and discussions at the end of the day. Be yourself while expressing your thoughts and be prepared to defend your thoughts too. Like I said, we bloggers are an opinionated lot. J

--------------------------------------
How do you build a community around a blog and social media?
------------------------------
------------------------------
--------------------------------------

I have Facebook and twitter accounts now and I try and link with people there. Also I have realized recently the power of facebook groups.  But the most important thing is to read other blogs and comment on them.

------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------
What are your three favorite blogs to read? What makes those blogs special?
------------------------------
------------------------------
--------------------------------------

I have no favourite blogs. But I have quite a few favourite posts! I love reading sensible people who write well.  Lately,I have taken quite an interest in Poetry. So I do love poetry blogs more these days.

------------------------------
------------------------------
--------------------------------------
Which one plugin would you suggest all bloggers to have?
------------------------------
------------------------------
--------------------------------------

Have a “follow me” plugin for sure. Then maybe a twitter handle and facebook badge.  Just to let people know you better. J
