Journal #102 : What is OKR

OKR, or Objectives and Key Results, helps organizations define and measure their objectives and outcomes. Andy Grove, former Intel CEO, popularized it, and many organizations, including Google, have adopted it.

OKR components:

  1. (O) The objective describes what you want to accomplish. Aim high, inspire, and provide direction.

  2. (KR) The Key Results are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound indicators of progress.

Objectives are typically set quarterly and are meant to be ambitious, challenging, and aspirational. Key results are the specific, actionable steps that need to be accomplished to reach the objective. Progress towards these key results is usually tracked regularly
