Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am a working mom who is currently taking blogging more of a commitment than a past time. Sweet Memoirs is a purpose-driven family and lifestyle blog. I blog for social good, donate most of my blog earnings to my chosen charitable institutions and at the same time, document my family's sweet memoirs for my children, future grandchildren and great grandchildren to read, reminisce and cherish when they grow up.

Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No, I am a part-time blogger. I started blogging in "friendster" days mainly to put my thoughts into writing. Later on, I developed a love for photography so I moved to blogger and set up a photoblog because I also can't find time to write anymore. However, photoblogging took a backseat in my priorities when my most awaited second child was conceived. I stopped blogging for a while but decided to buy my own domain later to be able to write more paid posts. My Simply Cherrific photoblog was then converted to Sweet Memoirs and became a family and lifestyle blog. After giving birth, in spite of my busyness as a working mom, I decided to continue blogging to chronicle my family's sweet memoirs and write for social good at the same time.

If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It takes a burning passion and a commitment to be able to maintain a good blog. If you think you have that kind of passion, choose a good blog title, write quality posts and go for it!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you build a community around a blog and social media?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I occasionally join blog carnivals, I visit blogs that I have built friendship with its authors regularly and I use twitter and facebook to promote my blog.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What are your three favorite blogs to read? What makes those blogs special?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) The Joys of Simple Life - Betchai, the blog author, was the one who inspired me to take nature photography and write paid posts for charity. She never fails to inspire me with all her blog posts that are always filled with awe-inspiring photos, stories and useful information. She calls writing paid posts blogging happine$$ and I am blessed that she passed on that happine$$ and real blogging happiness to me. Without her, I won't be where I am now in terms of blogging for a purpose.
2) The Letters in November - Kulasa, the blog author, is the most humble medical doctor I have known in my entire life. Her humble world never fails touch my heart and inspire my soul.
3) My Journey - Rainfield, the blog author, reminds me so much of my father. He has a one of a kind sense of humor and wisdom. Reading his blog posts never fails to entertain me and his many followers.

Which one plugin would you suggest all bloggers to have?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly I haven't tried using one but I am interested to use a certain plug-in that will send thank you emails to a blog reader who leaves a comment.

ReplyDeleteTwinzy, what can I say? I was teary eyed while reading and feeling so blessed to have known you in this lifetime. Someone like you who writes for a cause and with all humility is worth a standing ovation. With your sweet memoir's you inspire moms and wives to be the best that they can be always. Your grateful heart...we love so much :-)
ReplyDeleteyour smile in the picture perfectly illustrates the enthusiasm you have towards a more purposeful life Che, I love the purpose you have in blogging, aside from writing for a cause, you also build a journal to leave Kyla and Gian behind of very important moments in their lives. I remember when I was Kyla's age and older, I always ask my mom a bit or a lot of my personal history, haha, I am sure Kyla and Gian will appreciate a lot the journal you have built for them. it's a priceless gift for them. keep the inspiration flowing, Che.
