Blogger Interview # 83 : Emilee Roberts

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm Emilee and I'm a military spouse and homeschooling mom of 3 special needs kids. I blog at Pea of Sweetness.  cover areas of homeschooling, parenting, special needs parenting, eco-friendly living, Faith, and reviews and giveaways.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, not really. Between the kids' therapy appointments, my husband's Dr appts, and my own, I don't have enough time to be "full time," but I don't have an outside "job," so in a way it is my "full time" career. I originally started blogging to showcase my direct sales businesses and eco-friendly living after I was no longer able to sew and get my sewing business off the ground when my husband had gotten cancer twice. Last year my blog started taking a turn to become more personal and featuring reviews and giveaways. I am now focusing my blog in the way I mentioned. I will be starting a separate blog soon strictly for business.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do your research first. Learn about Search Engine Optimization before you choose your blog name, choose your blogging platform, etc. as well as learning about the things like duplicate content, etc. It's easier to start off right than it is to re-do things. And NETWORK! There are many bloggers out there, including myself, that love to network and bounce ideas off each other and help each other out! Plus, you should truly care about your blog. I see many messy blogs, grammatical errors, etc. Your blog truly reflects you, and you wouldn't want to look messy, would you?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you build a community around a blog and social media?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interact! So many times you can get the people to come to you, but what you do from there is what's important. Be yourself, be unique, and let people know you care! Actually interacting with people via social media is key!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What are your three favorite blogs to read? What makes those blogs special?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a tough one because I have so many friends that blog and so many bloggers I've gotten to know through networking that it's really hard to choose just three! Some I appreciate because of their Faith-based posts, some have great coupons and deals, others have great giveaways. I'd love to just share them all!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which one plugin would you suggest all bloggers to have?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some type of SEO plug-in - whether you choose SEO Ultimate or Yoast SEO or whatever you choose. Just definitely choose an SEO plug-in! It's SO important!
